Thank you for taking an interest in Why Not Jewellery. My name is Donna Byatt and I personally design and make every piece of jewellery. My husband Steve and I have been running this business for just over 4 years now.
Why Not was started in October 2003 following a need to be creative and has been running successfully ever since. I continue to explore many avenues to ensure all my work is of the highest quality and I strive to bring my customers the finest materials available.

- Silversmithing Course at Basingstoke College – this was a short course showing students how best to use silver in jewellery. The course enabled me to understand this precious metal and how it could be worked.

When Why Not started it all seemed like a dream….. or perhaps four years on it seems like a dream, so much has happened and changed over the four years…. My connection with Angels and Spirit is so much stronger now – after working with them to create unique and beautiful jewellery for people my abilities are far greater. Running the jewellery workshops was a huge and exciting step to take and I am amazed at how popular they are. Ladies that have been on one of them have booked to come on more – it fills me with delight when the workshops come about.
Following my PMC course I was able to connect with tree energy to create my highly successful leaf jewellery. Having meditated with trees for years and connected with their energy you can’t imagine how delighted I was to be able to connect with particular trees, take a few leaves from them, and make them into beautiful pendants that are totally unique and carry forever the strength and grounding of that tree. They are as stunning as they tree from which they came….almost!! Unfortunately we are in the wrong season at the moment and we are waiting until Spring for new leaves….. the leaf jewellery sells out very quickly so if you would like to order one then please contact us. As soon as we can get some made up and put some photo’s on the site we will do.
